THE ACCRA COLLECTION

Black Watch Flannel Pajama Set

Deep green and navy Black Watch plaid in lightweight, brushed 100% cotton yarn-dyed flannel.

The top’s body and sleeves are cut as one, with two principal seams. A boat neckline, flared wrist-length sleeves, and softly frayed edges finish the top.

The matching pants have side-seam pockets and an elastic waist with an adjustable drawstring.

How It’s Made

I wash every yard of flannel at least four times before cutting. This softens the fabric and gives it time to shrink before I make the garment.

I cut and construct each piece individually. Creating the fringe and securing it with two rows of stitching takes about an hour and a half to two hours per piece.

The Evolution of the Accra Cut

One cut. Two seams. Endless possibilities.

The Accra cut began with a white linen blouse in Accra, Ghana. With the body and sleeves cut as one, each fabric brings something different to the silhouette.

Allowing the natural character of fabric to emerge through the discipline simplicity demands.

Green Bouclé Duster
Exploring texture and exploiting structure.

Black Basket-Weave Dress
The basket weave gives definition to a line that curves gently in at the waist and out over the hips.

The White Shirt Project

A finely tailored white shirt connects cotton growers in Burkina Faso with textile makers and tailors in Ghana.

Read the White Shirt Project story

The project grew out of a concern for Ghana’s textile industry and the pressure it faces from imported secondhand clothing.

By sourcing, weaving, finishing, and tailoring in West Africa, the project supports the people and businesses that bring the shirt to life.

Our hand-picked cotton comes from the fair-trade farms in Burkina Faso and is processed at GTP.

Established in 1966, GTP was the first Ghanaian owned textile brand and remains one of the world’s largest producers of African print.

The Classic White Shirts are then hand tailored at Winglow Clothes and Textiles, a female owned Ghanaian textile manufacturer that has been training and providing gainful employment for the people of Accra for over 30 years.

The Classic White Shirt traces a path from cotton farms in Burkina Faso to textile production and tailoring in Ghana.

Look Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
